I learned many things when we went to go see Dr. Eire on Wednesday at the Saroyan Theater. I had many connections with Carlos like we have a friend named Abel who was in the same situation as Carlos but he has a little different of a story. For example, Abel grew up in Cuba but his sister told her teacher that her parents had been speaking badly about the government, so his parents were not allowed to stay with their children anymore and they were put in prison. Abel and his sister were flown on an airplane to the U.S. and grew up here for the rest of their lives. Finally, Abel’s mother snuck out of prison because she needed to see her children again. She flew to America and found Abel and stayed with him until she could find a job. Sadly, when his father was trying to reunite with his family again, guards killed him. Abel never saw his father again. After, his mother moved to Los Angeles, Abel moved to Fresno and met his wife Meg. They have had three kids. About, eight years ago Abel found his sister and went to go see her. He asked her many questions like, “Why would you do that to our parents?” but she couldn’t answer. Going to see Carlos Eire’s talk really opened my eyes to hear more stories about Pedro Pan.

Computer Lab
Yesterday in Computer Lab we learned many things that might help us for either tests or if you want to go on a game show and they happen to ask you about the Raspberry Pi, you will know what to reply. Anyways, like I was saying before the websites that Mr. Jost showed us might potentially help you when it comes to the C.S.T. or even, when you get into high school, for the S.A.T. The site was called Bitesize, but Mr. Jost was just showing us the Math section of Bitesize, which in my case helped me a lot. Now, back to the Raspberry Pi, it is intended to teach basic computer science to children. In Computer Lab yesterday, I learned a lot of stuff that I might not have been ever introduced to me otherwise.
Here is a picture of the Raspberry Pi:

Computer Lab
Today in Computer Lab it was actually pretty interesting and I learned a lot! First, Mr. Jost showed us many websites that might help us through the year like Grammar Girl, The Math Dude, and many more. Next, on the website Wonderopolis it said something about Aglet's. At first I didnt know what an Aglet was but then from the help of one of my fellow classmates, Kate, I now know that it is the thing on the end of your shoe lace that is hard. There was even a song for it from the TV show Phineas and Ferb! Finally, I learned more about Salman Khan like what his background story was for Khan Academy and what he uses and what he looks like and that he got to meet Bill Gates! Amazing story! Well anyway, today provided me with an interesting experience in computer lab.
